Why do you enjoy traveling?

I love to see and learn about new places. I especially enjoy seeing where important events took place. It's amazing how much you can learn while you travel and I tend to enjoy the memories of travel years after the actual trip.

What are your interests when traveling?

My husband and I really like talking with locals and eating at local diners - getting a real feel for a small town or area. We also enjoy photographing architecture - I look for interesting doorways, windows,and old signage.

In the United States: most all of the major cities and hundreds of small towns. In Europe: London, Paris, Brussels, Edinburgh, Stockholm, Dublin, Munich, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Monaco, Athens, Rome, Florence, Venice, Milan; South America: Caracas; Australia: Sydney, Melbourne; Canada: Toronto, Vancouver.

Which cities do you plan to visit during your lifetime?

I hope to visit Washington DC in depth (only spent a short time there once); Barcelona, Spain; Quebec, Canada.

Which places have you enjoyed the most?

Definitely anyplace in Italy! I love Savannah, GA, San Diego, CA, Santa Fe, NM, Nantucket, MA.

Which places have you enjoyed the least?

I didn't like Athens, Greece. I also disliked Detroit, MI and Tupelo, MS.

What is the best travel experience you have ever had?

One of my favorite travel experiences was when our family rented a villa in the Tuscany region of Italy. It was quite an adventure and a fabulous location for sightseeing!

What is the worst travel experience you have ever had?

One of my worst travel experiences was visiting a concentration camp in Germany - VERY depressing!
