Temporarily, there are no major airlines going to Santa Fe. Albuquerque is a short hour's drive from there. However, rumor has it that Delta Air Lines will be flying to Santa Fe from LAX and SLC this March! From what I understand, June is one of the best times to be in Santa Fe, without the crowds of July and August. The excellent weather is ideal for getting out and exploring the city. From hiking, horseback riding, river rafting, painting outdoors, or a ride in a hot air balloon, you're bound to have a great time! Check out www.SantaFeTours.net for more travel ideas =)

I lived in Santa Fe in the mid-eighties. It was fabulous. Loved the native culture, art and hiking opportunites. Never had the opportunity to go to the opera there. Plan to do so one day.

I visited Santa Fe many years ago and loved it! I'd love to go there again and see how it has changed.

Can you fly right into Santa Fe on a major carrier or commuter/regional planes? Or is Albuquerque the nearest airport?

I can't wait to visit Santa Fe, Albuqurque, and El Paso! I've been bugging Jeffrey to take me on a hot air balloon ride!

Out of all the places I've been, Sante Fe, unfortunately, is not one of them. I've only heard good things about it though. Seems like a must.

Does anyone know when "high" season is in Santa Fe, like higher rates on hotels, etc? I'd think winter, when the weather is mild there & cold everywhere else, but don't know for sure...... Thanks!
